For this series I have incorporated elements of silk clothes I have worn . The idea is to touch on our memories of experiencing landscapes. The images are composite topographical memories of places I have been and evoke the atmosphere experienced.
The clothes are complemented with silk fabric and thread I have collected or been given from all over the world. I like to use silk as it is historically diverse in its origin and use. It is luxurious, natural and biodegradable; it is versatile and strong while fragile and transient.
I aim for the media of the pictures to be ambiguous from a distance; they could be paintings, photographs or prints- they have to be looked at properly as a landscape might.
