The first piece I am making is a six panel (reminicent of traditional Japanese screens) piece which charts my journey in Japan following the cherry blossom. The piece will be read from Right to Left as you would with a Japanese screen. On the right the start of the blossom in Tokyo , panel 2 in Kyushu, panel 3 in Osaka, panel 4 in Kyoto, 5 in Naoshima and 6 in Tokyo again. I have started with panel 6 which was inspired by my visit to Shinjiku Goen park the day before I flew back to the UK - as the blossom was cascading from the trees. Below in progress.
